The conference will concentrate on the challenges surrounding in situ active substances and treated articles and its key focus will be the practicalities of supporting these types of biocides.

2017 has seen an expansion in the range of active substances included in the EU review programme for biocides, with applications submitted for in situ generated substances and for substances that have come into the review programme as a result of their incorporation into treated articles. The evaluation of these substance types brings new challenges. Further expansion of the review is expected during 2017 with the inclusion of re-defined substances captured under
Article 13 of Regulation (EU) No 1062/2014 for which dossiers have yet to be submitted.
