6th European Forum on Eco-Innovation - Technology Transfer: Creating Partnerships for Stimulating Economic Renewa

Conférence réservée aux professionnels / Lieu : Berlin - Germany
Technology transfer is the focus of the 6th European Environmental Technologies Action Plan (ETAP) Forum on Eco-Innovation, to be held in Berlin. Efficient technology transfer is an essential step to further develop environmental technologies and increase dissemination of eco-innovations. However, there are pressing concerns that first need to be addressed before progress can be made. In particular, the challenges of making the process financially beneficial for both parties and preventing third country exploitation of technologies must be overcome.

The Berlin event will enable policymakers, industry, the academic community and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and opinions on best practice in technology transfer to encourage the development and adoption of eco-innovation and environmental technologies. Topics will include successful case studies that demonstrate proven technology transfer methods with the potential to be adopted elsewhere.

The Forum will take place on 2 and 3 April 2009, as part of the WASSER BERLIN water and wastewater conference and exhibition, and will be hosted by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

Come to Berlin on 2 & 3 April 2009 to:

* Consider the needs and challenges of technology transfer at the local, regional, and global level;

* Debate the key business, social and political challenges for technology transfer and the role that eco-innovation and green technologies could play in the economic recovery;

* Discuss the best enabling means for the exchange of technology and market information;

* Recommend the necessary steps to build capacity for technology transfer within Europe as well as involving developing countries in achieving the goal of sustainable development;

* Interact and converse with senior Commission officials and key stakeholders to address the issues and barriers relating to efficient technology transfer; and the possibilities for a transition to a green economy and job creation.
