Presented within the event mardi verts, a monthly gathering on green architecture
A Panel discussion with three architects on the links between slow architecture and green architecture:
Michael Gies, architect, Freiburg
Pierre Thibault, architect, Québec
Moderator: Dominique Gauzin-Müller, architect and historian, Stuttgart
Slow architecture, in the same way as slow food, has the potential to change the way we live. If slow food is about tasty local produce with a minimum impact on the environment, slow architecture and its close relative “slow cities”, can be defined in pretty much the same manner: quality constructions which please the eye, are adapted to the surrounding environment and leave a small environmental footprint. If ''slow'' has been popping up in many other fields than gastronomy, it is because it reflects the same concern for quality of produce and services, a quality stemming from slowing down. Three architects will share their views on the links between slow and green architecture.
